Engine 817 Project started

This is the beginning of the new engine coming set to replace engine 172.

Engine committee was comprised of the following members:

Engine Make and Model decision

The engine commitee decided on a the pierce make to match with the existing engine that is still being used as engine 817 ( Engine 171). we also decided to go with the Enforcer cab after looking over and seeing a few pierce engines in the area.

Finalizing the purchase of the engine

We sat down with the our representative to finalize the starting details and purchase information. details are to include:

• Seating for six(6)
• Cummins x12 engine 500hp
• Allison EVS 4000 transmission
• Side Roll and Frontal Impact Protection
• Whelen LED emergency lighting package
• Firetech Hi Viz LED headlights and scene light package
• 500 gallon water tank with low rear hosebed
• Pierce aluminum short pumper body
• Hale QMAX 2000 GPM fire pump
• Front intake
• Three Rear discharges
• Lowered Crosslays
• Polished s/s Stand Gun
• 86.5" wheelbase
• 31' 2" OAL/ 9' 7" OAH

Design sit down

We sat down and discussed tool lay out, possible tool mounting, officer seat lay out, and graphics.

The final sit down before going to production

 The engine committee sat down with with our pierce representative from @atlanticemergencysolutions and went over line by line of all the details for the new engine before giving the final ok to start the build process. The new engine is on schedule to be delivers in october of this year.
