On Thursday may 25th at approximately 1400hrs engine 817 was alerted to respond for the working fire in at the 4100blk of Suitland rd. While enroute PG county sheriff dept advised that they had a building with fire showing from the roof. Engine 817 arrived on scene after laying out 2ooft of 4in LDH, and gave a size up of a 1stry pool house with a basement with fire through the roof. During the 360 engine 817’s officer noticed multiple pallets of chlorine in and around the lower level and had requested the hazmat units. Engine 817’s line man and backup man stretched the 300ft 2in to the front door. Truck 829’s crew assisted opening the door and once the doors were open crews were met with heavy fire and noticed the roof had fell into division 1, at that time truck 829 had requested defensive operations. crews operated for approximately 3hrs before returning to service.
